Description
Drawing Process:
For the “Serenity” faun drawing, my process includes several steps. First, the sketch is drawn softly with a light colored mechanical pencil or graphite to draft the idea. I follow up with several shades of different wax colored pencils to add depth and a sense of atmosphere to the drawing. Then graphite is drawn on top to tighten and clean the drawing as well as add details. The colored sketch remains intact and subtly visible beneath the graphite of the final drawing. This process captures not just the final illustration, but also preserves the journey from sketch to finish with each layer of color.
“Serenity” Faun Drawing Story:
“This is 1 of a 3 part mini series about the unicorn faun race from my Paranormal Fairy tale World “Terratoff”.
Every few hundred years or so, a female faun is born with a single twisted horn close to the center of her forehead. These fortunate creatures are often worshiped as goddesses, because it is believed by many that their single deformed antler grants them the powers of the unicorn. These powers include immunity to “the Rott” (a horrific plague that terrorizes their world)
This goddess was the first, and often regarded as the most beautiful. She lived a long and comfortable life surrounded by followers that adored and pampered her. Her claim to god-hood angered both the pure and rotten fauns, who both agreed her words to be blasphemous. 1/3″
