Description

Drawing Process:

For the “Nights of Yule Hare” drawing, my process includes several steps. First, the sketch is drawn softly with a light colored mechanical pencil or graphite to draft the idea. I follow up with several shades of different wax colored pencils to add depth and a sense of atmosphere to the drawing. Then graphite is drawn on top to tighten and clean the drawing as well as add details. The colored sketch remains intact and subtly visible beneath the graphite of the final drawing. This process captures not just the final illustration, but also preserves the journey from sketch to finish with each layer of color.

“Nights of Yule Hare” Drawing Story:

“When the world tilts her head towards the moon, when the nights are long and there is a chill in the air, the time of “Yule” is near. A comforting darkness creeps across the land, making each day shorter than the last.

As the sun sets each night, the realm is enchanted by a dazzling moon and stars, the brightest they will shine all year. Silently they glow high above the realm, reminding all that look up upon them that there is always a light in the darkness. Terratoffians celebrate together under the stars, spreading laughter and good cheer despite the lingering night.

The Yule Hare brings tidings from holidays past! Yule is a time for both creating, and revisiting fond memories and lessons learned from Yules before. He carries the spirits of these moments with him, and delivers their whispers to you when you least expect them. Memories of loved ones are brought to the kind hearted, and lessons of holiday cheer to those who need reminding. Whenever you feel nostalgic, or watched over this time of year, you can be sure that the Yule Hare is near.
