Description
Drawing Process:
For the “Madame Odine” faun drawing, my process includes several steps. First, the sketch is drawn softly with a light colored mechanical pencil or graphite to draft the idea. I follow up with several shades of different wax colored pencils to add depth and a sense of atmosphere to the drawing. Then graphite is drawn on top to tighten and clean the drawing as well as add details. The colored sketch remains intact and subtly visible beneath the graphite of the final drawing. This process captures not just the final illustration, but also preserves the journey from sketch to finish with each layer of color.
“Madame Odine” Faun Drawing Story:
“Long ago, when “the Rotten plague” first began to spread across the realm of Terratoff, Madame Odine was one of the first to heed it’s call. Once a powerful and celebrated healer, the Rott twisted her into a herald of death. Through new corrupted application of her magic, she cultivated a reputation for offering aid “with a price”. A price so high, that only the most desperate of souls would be willing to pay.
Madame Odine lives in a barren cemetery filled with thorns, ash, and hundreds of gravestones. She can be found standing amongst the graves waiting for lost souls to seek her out for help. Even though it is known that Madame Odine cannot be trusted, many still call on her, for she alone can grant them what they seek.
By consuming the energy of the departed souls that surround her, Madame Odine is able to cast all sorts of spells. She has granted wealth, power, and revenge for those that wished it. But beware the cost! For yours may be the soul she devours to cast her spell… your flesh left to be counted amongst the graves of her cemetery… ”
