Description

Drawing Process:

For the “Nights of Yule Unicorn” drawing, my process includes several steps. First, the sketch is drawn softly with a light colored mechanical pencil or graphite to draft the idea. I follow up with several shades of different wax colored pencils to add depth and a sense of atmosphere to the drawing. Then graphite is drawn on top to tighten and clean the drawing as well as add details. The colored sketch remains intact and subtly visible beneath the graphite of the final drawing. This process captures not just the final illustration, but also preserves the journey from sketch to finish with each layer of color.

“When the world tilts her head towards the moon, when the nights are long and there is a chill in the air, the time of “Yule” is near. A comforting darkness creeps across the land, making each day shorter than the last.

As the sun sets each night, the realm is enchanted by a dazzling moon and stars, the brightest they will shine all year. Silently they glow high above the realm, reminding all that look up upon them that there is always a light in the darkness. Terratoffians celebrate together under the stars, spreading laughter and good cheer despite the lingering night.

The Yule Unicorn brings blessings of companionship! Should you need a joyful companion or a listening ear, the unicorn is here. He is always willing to rest his head on your lap and listen to your sorrows. He lifts your spirits with song and dance, and invites you to join in too!
